About this Course

Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, Blended Learning, enables participants to complete the theoretical portion online and the practical component in a classroom setting. The Standard First Aid and CPR course consists of thirteen (13) modules. Upon finishing each module, a brief quiz must be passed with a minimum score of 80% to progress to the next module. You are allowed to retake the quiz as many times as necessary to achieve the required score. Once you are done with the online segment, you should either print or forward the quiz results to your email to present to the instructor if requested. It’s important to note that failure to complete the online component may result in being unable to participate in the practical component, requiring re-registration for the course. The Preliminary Certificate is not a certification; it serves as proof of completing the online portion of the Standard First Aid course.

Core Content Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Online

DAY ONE:

• You will be taught about the EMS/911 system.
• The Check, Call, and Care systematic approach to first aid.  Essential steps for remaining safe while rendering first aid.
• Ways to reduce or eliminate the risks of infection and the importance of wearing gloves and with COVID-19 the importance of wearing masks, too.
• On the trauma side, participants would be taught when and how to apply a tourniquet and the risks attached when deciding to use one.
• The dangers of aspiration and why it is essential to look out for it.
• Airway, breathing, and circulation
• The Recovery Position
• Stroke
• Choking (infant, child & adult)
• Circulation Emergencies (Cardiac Arrest – infant, child & adult)

DAY TWO:

• Wound Care – Learn the basics on how to treat burns, abrasions, cuts, tears
• Spinal cord injury (suspected).  How to care and immobilize
• Diabetes – Learn the symptoms of Type 1 and Type 2 and first aid in a Diabetic emergency
• Allergic reactions and how to use an epi-pen

Standard First Aid CPR Level C Online Certification

Once all aspects of the course are completed, you will receive your CPR Level C Online certification which will be valid for three years.
