Psychological First Aid

Psychological First Aid is for everyone.  With emphasis on establishing a connection with people in a compassionate non-judgmental manner, the training also helps to foster a positive work environment and culture of care in the workplace. Psychological First Aid helps reduce negative health outcomes for individuals by promoting positive conversations about wellness.

Opioid Poisoning Emergencies 

Opioid poisoning from prescription and non-medical drugs, and potent synthetic opioids such as fentanyl, is an important emerging public health issue. We are focused on reaching people most at risk for opioid poisoning in under-served communities and helping Canadians to better understand the risks, stigmas, and misconceptions of opioid poisoning. .

Marine Basic First Aid

Comprehensive two-day course designed to meet the needs of those expected to provide first aid in a marine environment. Course uses a combination of lecture, discussion, and scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry to teach the required knowledge and skills.  Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E.

Emergency Medical Responder

Participants will learn and demonstrate all knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate patient assessments, interventions, and on-going care, including the transportation of a patient to a healthcare facility. Course content may vary depending on jurisdictional requirements and, in addition, follows the National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) as defined by the Paramedic Association of Canada.

WHMIS TRAINING

WHMIS 2015 Online is based on the current 2015 legislation and meets the legislated requirement for general WHMIS training. Employers must also provide workplace-specific training and instruction for each of the hazardous products in the workplace.

FIRE SAFETY

Fire Safety teaches participants about the legislated fire safety responsibilities of the employer and the worker, describes safe work practices related to fire prevention, and provides practical information about emergency response in situations involving fire.
